As part of our continued work to improve the Care Pro experience, starting in May we introduced digital badges in the Care Pro App, giving new hires instant access to credentials and helping them get started more easily and confidently. This is one of several steps we’re taking to strengthen how we welcome and retain the best Care Pros from day one.
In that same spirit, effective mid-May we paused automatic fulfillment of physical Welcome Kits for new Care Pros on Care Platform. Many kits were being sent to Care Pros who never worked a shift or left the platform early on. When we tested a pause in fulfillment, we saw no decline in mobilization, utilization, or retention—reinforcing what we’ve known: the most impactful investments are those that support Care Pros who are actively engaged and committed to delivering care. This shift allows us to focus more deeply on those efforts.
We’ll continue to ensure Welcome Kit support meets business needs. Where uniforms or other materials are required—such as specific facilities or based on state guidance—we’ll make those accommodations. Additionally we’re testing several efforts focused on retaining our highest-value Care Pros as one of our top priorities, and we’re actively exploring exciting initiatives like hours protection incentives to support that goal. In parallel, we’re testing new ways to build early relationships and better staff our newest Care Pros, along with training and listening events that help us stay closely connected to what matters most to them. These efforts are also being shaped by insights from our Care Pro Advisory Board, which provides a direct line of feedback from the Care Pros themselves. Together, these initiatives are informing a more focused and rewarding Care Pro experience across the platform, with more to come in an upcoming Platform update.
